A leader of microelectronic products and an innovator in the Australian semiconductor industry has an opportunity for a self driven, enthusiastic process development engineer with a background in either photovoltaic, physics or material science disciplines. For this junior process development engineering role, you will be working within both the technical and research development departments and it is an opportunity to get exposure in a world class facility, which can lead to a long term or full time position.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Conduct substrate cleaning for epitaxial growth
- Evaluation of the cleaning process
- Operate manufacturing equipment in a cleanroom environment
- Optimise and sustain thin film deposition
- Characterising epitaxial grown material
- Reporting machine malfunctions
- Report measurement data electronically
To be suitable for this role: - Materials Science Graduate (other disciplines including Physics or Photovoltaics would be suitable) - not necessary to be PhD qualified
- Excellent university marks (we would be expecting 1st Class or 2nd Class honours)
- Some industrial experience in a research or commercial facility such as a cleanroom environment
- A self driven individual with an interest in science and an ability to ask questions
- Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship
This role is suitable for junior engineers or recent graduates and whilst we don't require someone to have in-depth experience with all of the technical responsibilities (e.g. characterising epitaxial grown material), the ability to learn and being genuinely interested in semiconductor and materials science technologies is essential for this role.
