Working as an integral part of the senior management team, you will work with the MD to develop & implement the organisation’s finance & hedging policy as well as developing banking relationships & taking the lead role in the debt raising process. Ideally, this role will progress to a CFO role in the short term. Reporting to the Managing Director, the duties of the Financial Controller will include: Accounting - Coordinating & presenting the annual operating & capital budgets & strategic plan in conjunction with the MD;
- Project Accounting for feasibility study & mine development;
- Cost accounting including Project Development & Mineral Leases;
- Prepare 5 Year Plan;
- Develop & implement appropriate accounting procedures & controls;
- Oversee the establishment & maintenance of efficient commercial systems;
- Oversee Cash Flow Budgeting;
- Develop & improve Project /Mine Budgets;
- Identify material areas for cost reduction;
- Identify & manage variances;
- Oversee Accounts Payable function including Payroll;
- Oversee site based purchasing, goods receivable & accounts payable.
- Provide Accounting & Commercial support to department & Division Managers;
Treasury - Manage the organisation’s cash resources;
- Maintain banking relationships;
- Assist with debt & equity raisings.
Cost & Asset Management Tax & Superannuation - Manage strategic tax planning & compliance with legislation as the Public Officer;
- Liaise with & manage tax advisers, Australian Tax Office, State Tax Office and Tax Authorities in group company jurisdictions;
- Ensure the timely reporting of tax data to the appropriate authorities in each jurisdiction within which the company operates.
Information Technology - Oversee the IT function in Perth while maintaining an up-to-date IT strategy.
Company Secretarial Ensure compliance with ASIC & ASX listing requirements Attend board & board committee meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes & brief board on assigned projects; Maintain all statutory records; Prepare monthly reporting statistics on share prices and shareholder movements for the Board.
