Our client is a highly sought after Federal Government Department who has a very interesting and exciting vacancy for an APS6 Public Affaris Officer for a short, 3 month, non-ongoing contract. The position has a large focus on the public affairs management of and the development of promotional materials for the section.

Duties of this position will include:

• Public affairs management for program;
• Assist the Information Manager to coordinate and write briefings, Possible Parliamentary Questions (PPQs) and corporate documents;
• Support the development and implementation of communications and information management strategies;
• Develop brochures and other promotional material for Australian audiences;
• Assist with public affairs input and planning for ministerial and executive visits;
• Liaise with the Communications and Media Branch on behalf of the Section;
• Assist with the management and drafting of correspondence and public affairs material; and
• Manage the issues diary and other co-ordination documents

The successful candidate requires the following skills:

• Excellent writing and editing skills, ability to write quickly and clearly;
• Good knowledge and understanding of the media industry, previous experience in the media will be highly regarded;
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines, and produce results under pressure; and
• High level of interpersonal skills, including judgment and cross-cultural awareness, and the ability to consult and negotiate with key stakeholders.

You must be an Australian citizen and hold a current Negative Vetting 1 or Negative Vetting 2 security clearance to apply.
