Our client is a leading CSR consulting firm with head offices in Melbourne. Having almost doubled their number of employees in the last 12 months based on project wins and development of new service lines they are increasing their already strong reputation in the industry. Renowned for their leading social science research their services include Sustainability reporting, Stakeholder engagement and research, GRI certified Training, Workshops, Strategy projects and carbon management.

Due to that growth they are looking to add a Mid-Level Consultant to primarily focus on the delivery and management of sustainability reporting projects. You will also have the opportunity to gain exposure to the full suite of projects such is the nature of a boutique firm.Although not their 1st choice they would be willing to hire a Senior Consultant ($90 - $110k + Super) in this role but this would bring greater responsibilities within business development and project management. 

You will be responsible for:
  • Sustainability report development, including planning, co-ordination of data collection, drafting and editing.
  • Prepare project plans, budgets and project documentatio and coordinate projects.
  • Participate in or conduct materiality assessments from a variety of primary and secondary data sources.
  • Co-ordinate other project suppliers such as design, web services or print.
  • GRI checking and benchmarking.
  • Record-keeping and project reporting.
  • Preparation of my clients sustainability report according to GRI Hi-5 guidelines.
  • Contribute to development of new business through taking briefs and preparing proposals  Contribute to the improvement of consulting products and tools.
You will Have / be:

The ideal candidate will be passionate and knowledgeable about corporate responsibility sustainability issues and hold a relevant under- or post-graduate qualification. He or she will be experienced in GRI sustainability reporting from conception through to completion. He or she will be an outstanding communicator and team player with a keen eye for detail and accuracy and a desire and willingness to develop personally within the role. Client focus is a key aspect of the role and the ability to understand and anticipate client needs both over immediate and longer horizons is essential. Professionalism in all aspects of the role is expected, including rigorous project and time management skills.

Essential skills:
  • Two or more years’ experience in sustainability reporting with a track record in producing quality GRI-compliant reports.
  • Two or more years in a consulting (professional services) role.
  • Thorough understanding of CR/sustainability issues, including best practice and trends in sustainability reporting.
  • Experience in applying international frameworks for CSR including but not limited to GRI, AA1000, and the UN Global Compact.
  • An outstanding writer (English).
  • Experience with on-line reporting environments, including web-based 3rd party reporting software.
  • Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in corporate responsibility, business, journalism, environment or other relevant subject area.
  • Project management skills: project planning and scheduling, coordinating resources, project communications, progress updates etc.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills to prioritise and manage a demanding and varied workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work autonomously and diligently follow instructions.
  • IT skills (MS office, email, internet).
Desirable:
  • Specialisation in a specific business sector (e.g. mining, energy or financial services) will be well regarded.
  • Experience in assurance of sustainability reports.
  • Post-graduate qualifications.
  • Completed GRI-certified training.
  • Worked on award-winning sustainability reports.
  • Social sciences research experience.
  • Additional languages.
  • Experience as a trainer.
  • Budget management experience.
